Nurturing

At our clinic, we provide healthcare comprehensive care for every stage of life, from babies, kids, teens, adults, and seniors.

Our Nurse Practitioner is accepting new patients who don’t already have a family doctor or nurse practitioner following them.

Nurturing families across the lifespan

We believe that families thrive with a circle of support around them. At Roundhouse, we are a collaborative team of Registered Midwives and Nurse Practitioners (NPs). We are one of the first Primary Care Network clinics in British Columbia that is a NP-RM practice. We offer health care across the lifespan, with a focus on reproductive care and serving the needs of pregnant people and their families in the Victoria area.

Our Midwives provide care from pregnancy until six weeks postpartum, while the family practice Nurse Practitioners provide care from birth until the end of life. Nurse Practitioners and Midwives share a philosophy of preventative, whole-person health care and value a strong partnership between the patient and the care provider.

As BC primary care providers, we offer a spectrum of services, including family medicine from newborn to elderly patients, maternity and postpartum care, gender-affirming and sexual health care. If you are looking for maternity care, please visit the Roundhouse Midwives page [link to roundhousemidwives.com].

Frequently AskedQuestions

Q:

What is a Nurse Practitioner, NP?

We believe that families thrive with a circle of support around them. At Roundhouse, we are a collaborative team of Registered Midwives and Nurse Practitioners. We offer health care across the lifespan: babies, kids, adults and older folks are all welcome here.

We are queer-friendly, trauma-informed, and prioritize cultural safety in the care we provide.

Our Nurse Practitioners are accepting new patients who don’t already have a family doctor or nurse practitioner, prioritizing:

  • People who are pregnant or postpartum and live in Saanich or the Western communities, and
  • Equity-deserving populations anywhere in the Victoria area: people who are IBPOC, LGBTQ2IA+, teen parents, or have other socioeconomic factors increasing their need for access to primary care.
Q:

What types of appointments do you offer?

We offer in-clinic and virtual appointments, and do community visits for certain populations. Our clinic appointments are typically 30 minutes long. Short-notice appointments for current patients are usually available Monday to Thursday, but we are not a walk-in clinic.

  • Current patients can schedule their appointments online or over the phone. For same-day appointments, call in the mornings Mon-Thurs and we will do our best to schedule you as soon as possible.
  • Prescription renewals, review of test results, consultations and follow ups can be conducted by phone or virtual video. We do not currently provide Opioid Antagonist Therapy.
Q:

What is your mask and sickness policy?

In our practice, we see patients who are immunocompromised or are at risk if they become sick. We ask for the following:

  • All patients and visitors to the clinic with symptoms of illness* will be asked to wear a mask.
  • Any staff with symptoms of illness will either work from home or wear a mask.
  • If a patient chooses to wear a mask to protect themselves, staff will honor that and wear a mask.
  • If a staff member chooses to wear a mask to protect themselves or vulnerable family members, then their patients will be asked to wear a mask.

* Signs of illness include fever, runny nose, cough, vomiting or generally feeling unwell.

Thank you for helping us to keep the community healthy.
